A Brand New Start

I have been putting off starting a new blog for YEARS now. Mostly because I wasn’t sure what to write, despite having so many thoughts going through my head on a daily basis. I’ve also been stuck writing my third book (although I’m just a couple more thousand words there!) and I just wasn’t sure if this is for me.

But the last couple of months, I’ve been itching to write! Even my work reports and presentations have been so lengthy that my colleagues and bosses have been telling me to shorten it because it looks like I’m writing books. I guess that’s just who I am and what I like to do. I remember about 15 years ago when I first started blogging on blogspot, I would write hundreds and hundreds of words each post and I would have so many posts up within a week. It was just something about pouring my thoughts, feelings and emotions into my blog that I thoroughly enjoyed. It was a place where I felt like I was truly myself, away from the real world where society places certain standards on you, making you feel like you have to be a certain way in order to survive.

I guess in the last couple of years, I’ve been trapped in that world. Writing my first two books over the last two years, it felt good to just let my creative juices flow again and I want to do more of it. Yes, time hasn’t been easy to find, especially after marriage and being a father but we all have the same 24 hours in a day. And if something really matters to you, you’d find the time to do it. You just gotta make certain sacrifices along the way.

I’ve contemplated a new blog for a very long time. Like I said, it’s been years since I’ve wanted to start a new blog and start writing again. So, this is what I’m doing now. A brand new start to something that I’ve loved doing but have been scared of putting myself out there again.

And this time, I’m gonna be a bit more disciplined in terms of what I’m going to be writing about. Yes, it’s still a personal blog (somewhat) but I’m going to streamline it down to 4 main categories – Fitness & Health, Sports, Games and Music as these 4 things are what drives me. There will still be posts about general stuff, rants and random thoughts but I feel that having focus areas to write about will help. AND, I’m going to try to write as many posts as I can, as often as I can, as best as I can.
